Thrifty Look of The Day

Hey my fellow thriftanistas HAPPY THRIFTY THURSDAY. I hope your all having a fantabulous (my word) day. Today’s post will be SHORT and SWEET as I am pressed for time. I told you all yesterday that I have (singing in my Will Smith voice) summer, summer, summertime on the brain. My mind keeps racing to all the fabulous thrifted fashions and amazing footwear that I will be styling and profiling in this summer. So once again the top model in me took to my closet and put on a fashion show that would make Tyra proud. Below you will see one of the ensembles I put together. It is my thrifty look of the day and it’s HOT, HOT, HOT. It’s a little on the short side but there is nothing wrong with showing a little leg. Tell me what you think shirt or dress? The picture tells you my vote.

Who Can Put a FABULOUS Head To Toe Outfit Together for $13.22? Meeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

Good evening my fellow thriftanistas. It was little cloudy in Chicago today, but I am feeling bright and sunny on the inside. I have spent my day dreaming about the upcoming warm weather, and all of the fabulous thrifted outfits I will be rocking. The last couple of months I have been on a hunt for spring and summer wear. I have amassed an impressive collection of  bright, colorful, spectacular summer apparel from the trendy to the vintage. Now if mother nature would just corporate my fantasy could become a reality. However since it seems she is going to make me wait a little longer I have had to get my summer satisfaction in different ways. If you are thinking what the hell is this chick talking about……..I will tell you. I have been playing dress up (don’t judge me). I have been getting in front of my mirror, in my warm house and creating some of my soon to be HOTTTTTT summer looks. What????? At least I will be prepared. I am having a ball putting on my daily summer fashion shows. I have been looking so damn good, I can’t wait to take me out this summer. Did I mention that all of my fabulous ensembles were created using thrifted items? Of course I did because I’m THE THRIFTY FASHIONISTA. Check out my picture below to see one of the FABULOUS looks I put together for the low, low-cost of $13.22. Yes I said it, a head to toe look for $13.22. I LOVE being thrifty!

I Have Returned!!!!!!!

Hey, my fellow thriftanistas I know it has been a while but I have had a LOTTTTTTTT going on. First my mom’s house ate my keys. Yeah I know you are saying to yourself how did the house eat the keys? I am still asking myself the same damn question. I have like 20 keys on my key chain so for the life off me I can’t figure out how that many keys came up missing. I suspect my 3-year-old. Then on top of that my mom’s house ate the container that the spare key was in. Yes this is a true story. I ended up being locked out of my house and car for 3 days. I had to get my house and car re-keyed (with my loving parents help). After I finally got back into my house and car the cord for my laptop died. Yes again this is a true story. We are all grown so you know as the old saying goes “WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS”. However things are finally starting to get back on track so, BABY I’M BACK!!!!

Now on to what I LOVE to talk about clothing and thrifting. Before all the madness that is my life kicked in I embarked on an endeavor. I did a spring PURGE. I went through all of the clothing and shoes in my house to get rid of what we didn’t need. I don’t want to become a hoarder so I had to get rid of some old to make room for some ” new”. I keep my clothing and my children’s clothing in excellent condition so most of the things I purge get donated to charity. The things that are GARBAGE get put directly into the garbage. For those that don’t know I have a problem with people who donate GARBAGE ( things with holes, rips, stains, fading and are just ultimately disgusting). I feel like a donation should be something you would be proud to see another person get use out of. Okay I am off my soap box now. Any who I donated ton’s of bags to my local Amvet and a couple of bags to a local shelter. Check out the video below to see my purging journey. Disclaimer: not all the bags of clothes actually came out of our closets. The greater portion of  the bags were clothing from my boutique. Coming up next my $10 or less series continues, more fantastic videos and footage from me out and about in my local thrift stores. Until next time my fellow Thriftanistas, Smooches!!!!!

The Look for Less: Mint Green Edition

Hi, my fellow thriftanistas sorry that it has been so long since my last blog but I have been SUPER busy. Between the kids, events, new projects and just life in general this is the first time in weeks my mind has been at rest long enough to write. I have some very exciting things coming up in the world of fashion and thrifting so please stay tuned. Now on to the hot topic of the day, the color mint green. If you have been keeping up with the hot trends for spring and summer then you know that mint green is one of the hottest colors right now. You can’t pick up a fashion magazine with out that color jumping of the page. Of course never one to be behind the fashion curve you know “The Thrifty FASHIONISTA”  had to add some thrifty mint green pieces to her wardrobe. Check out the video below to see how I took my fabulous thrifted mint green items and created some show stopping looks. Have you ever seen $10.00 or less look this good?

Until Next Time My Thriftanistas,

Thrifted goodness from head to toe!
